Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man review
This itteration of Spider-Man seems to be a fully original one, but there are aspects from the MCU like Peter’s interest in robotics, Doctor Strange’s magic portals and a young Aunt May. Until further notice I’m assuming this is within their multiverse.
It is overall an alright show. Peter is likeable and there are subversions of the general nerd/jock dynamic. Nico Minoru is here, which is a pleasant change of pace for Peter’s best friend, and hopefully will allow for some LGBT rrepresentation.
I have to say that, language wise at least, this is quite mature for a Disney animated show, with words like “crap” and “hell” thrown around. I suppose this is meant to target a teenage demographic, which is a departure from Disney’s usually sanitized TV series.
Overall I recommend it.
