Wolf King review

--

Based on the Weereworld book series by Curtis Jobling, Wolf King is about a werewolf boy in his quest to defeat the lion regime.

The worldbuilding is the strongest suite of this series. Much like the books it takes advantage of the many types of werebeasts of folklore and mythology across the world, even if they’re not one to one comparisions. Though they largely function the same way, they all have peculiarities that make the individual “species” stand out.

The animation is a kind of painted CGI made to resemble paintings, and occasionally the show pivots to 2D especially in flashbacks.

Overall a solid recommendation.
