The Dragon Prince review
The Dragon Prince takes place in a fantasy setting where human beings are at war with elves and dragons, over disagreements over magic to put it lightly. It styles itself strongly after Avatar: The Last Airbender, having similar character archetypes, a focus on the realities of war and its individual seasons named after the elements.
This. I think, it is to its detriment. It tries to emulate Avatar but misses aspects that made it so great in the first place, like more serious and somber moments. It also tries to be more morally grey, and to that effect it succeeds, but then struggles and gives us morally evil villains. And the humor is highly obnoxious.
Still, it has creative worldbuilding, and its painted CGI animation is nice to look at.
A lukewarm recommendation.
