Netflix Asterix and Obelix review

Astérix & Obélix : Le Combat des Chefs is a faithful adaptation to the first few Asterix & Obelix comics, so far with five episodes. It’s really the best adaptation this franchise ever got; though the live action movies still have a place in my heart, they simply can’t do the cartoony, exuberant slapstick that animation has.

As an absolute sign of respect, these aren’t merely condensed into 10 or 20 minutes but a full half-hour like Invincible episodes, so these can probably be considered mini movies. The animation is indeed very similar to that of the A.Film animated movies; still wished it ws 2D, but beggars can’t be choosers.

An absolute delight and strong recommendation.
