MTG Color Analysis: Soulcreek
I made two attempts at covering furry visual novel protagonists into the MTG color pie. For the most part I stand by those alignments, but there is one exception I’m addressing here. Serious spoilers for the fvn Soulcreek ahead, so dip out if you don’t want to be spoiled.
Rather than Blue, Alex is more clearly Black aligned. He started as a tabula rasa, and gradually descended into a mindset of feeling helpless, so he began coveting power and became rather ruthless. A particularly chilling scene has him commiting a brutal murder and hiding it from Byte, the demon that shares his mind. The fact that the demon is the more moral of the two (for now at least) is an amusing irony.
I’ll briefly cover other characters, since I’m already doing this:
Loken
Loken is an interesting example of a mono-Red character. He seems stoic and has a rather formal way of speeking, but he is very much driven by his emotions and instincts, making for an at times amusing character given his literal mindedness.
Drevonia
A rather ruthless Green/Black/White character, Drevonia is a wise but firm leader of her people, who is also pragmatic enough to see her clan using technology to advance themselves.
Kaius
A Black/Green/Red antagonist, Kaius wants both a disconnect from technology and independence for his people. Like his sister, he is rather ruthless in war.
Takhi
Like Loken Takhi is mono-Red, but she’s much more brash and open, always looking for a fight or roughousing.
Aeyon
Aeyon is a pretty Green/White/Blue character, loving technology but having left the automonks for the desire to help others. He’s also very emotionally mature and serves as a good rock for Loken and Alex.
And that’s it for now.
