Masameer Junior review
This is a Saudi Arabian animated film, as an extension of the Masameer series. Still, this works wonders as an isolated movie on its own, as the characters are relatively well introduced without much baggage.
The plot is three children (one of them is a dog…) who, upon entering middle school, get lectured that they’re going to hell for trivial things, and try to be good samaritans, only for things to get even worse. It’s a comedy film, and said comedy is both a good critique of the conservative Arabic society as well as exceptionally dark at times. So there’s both excellent satire and dark laughs.
The animation is reasonably good. The main character designs are a bit off putting, but luckily this is something mostly exclusive to them.
A solid recommendation.
