Jellystone review

Jellystone is the result of Hanna Barbera porperties going through C. H. Greenblatt’s surreal filter. This results in not only a very wacky series but a rather inspired one, bombarding the audience with jokes that range from the absurdist to the dark.

Virtually every Hanna Barbera character is here, and they fill rather different character niches from the original (for example, the cast of Yogi Bear now works at a hospital, but stain more or less true to their personalities in previous media). One episode in particular goes one step further and features characters from Cartoon Network’s classical era, making this a true love letter to these properties,

The animation is rather simple, with solid character designs. Occasionally it pivots into other styles for the sake of a joke.
