Jardim da Celeste review

--

[O] Jardim da Celeste (lit. “Celeste’s Garden” in portuguese) is one of the many puppet shows in the awake of the debut of Sesame Street. Yet, it falls short on quite a few metrics:

- The puppets are horrendous. They’re quite ugly to look at and have limited motion. It makes one appreciate Jim Henson’s character designs all the more.

- The plots are rather trite and talk down to the audience. True, this is a children’s show, but again I direct you to Sesame Street, that deals with heavy topics like death and discrimination and prepares kids to the hardships of life in a gentle way.

If there is one positive thing I can say about this show, is that the 2D segments aren’t bad at all.
