Something for shark week.

Work Text:

School was fine for Gabe.

He managed to get some swimming done without that horrible coach barking at him. His friends had plans, tho, and he didn’t feel like joining them. He headed straight home.

As he opened the door, he could tell his parents weren’t home. But the familiar scent of his abuela calmed him down.

“Oye abuelita!”

“Hola a ti también mi amor!” she said, walking over.

She pinched his cheeks affectionately.

“Vale, hice galletas para ti!”

Indeed, the sweet smell of cookies permeated the air.

“Gracias abuela!”

He kissed her on the forehead, then headed to the cookies. He relaxed on the couch, not too slobbery as to not look lazy, taking one coockie at a time.

“Niño, como estuvo la escuela hoy?”

“Estuvo bien, nada nuevo.”

“Vale, ‘nada nuevo’? No aprendes cosas ahi?”

Gabe laughed. His grandmother’s fake outrage was very endearing to him, and she did it especially well for him. The cookies flew by fast, even eating them delicately.

“Lavaré los pratos.”

“Que buen niño!”

Gabe smiled, and as he rose from the couch he settled his grandomother delicately.

She snoozed contently, as he did the dishes.
