Fox & Hare Save the Forest review

Fox & Hare Save the Forest is based on the Vos en Haas en de Bosbaas book series. This explains why the film just expects the viewer to know who these characters are, as otherwise they don’t get an introduction.

The movie is about forest animals trying to save their home from being flooded due to the actions of a megalomaniacal, self-important beaver. This movie came out in 2024, but it is eerily preescient about our current climate crisis and orange dictator.

The animation is nice. It appears to be CGI, but it has a texture and movements that resemble stop motion. The character designs are mostly alright, except for the mermaid, who is a creepy uncanny valley thing.

A strong recommendation.
