A very trans visual novel

No More Future is one of my favourite furry visual novels of all time. It manages to explore the question of whereas you can truly survive in a mechanical facsimile of yourself while also exploring light fantasy motifs to go with the more over science fiction.

This relates especially well with trans issues. Not only can you chose your pronouns for Isaac (or however you want to call them), but the narrative plays into the insecurities and self-affirmation that come with transitioning. At every step of the way Isaac is met with people devaluing their worth as a human being an insisting they are just a machine, much as trans people have to deal with transphobic rhetoric all the time.

Given the author, these tribulations were most likely intentional, and this game thus offers a way to relate to its audience in a very visceral manner.
